Pregnancy can be either wonderful, or terrifying. Complications result in miscarriages and deaths every day, and the weight of that knowledge can drown any expectant mothers joy in anxiety. Fear for the life that the child will lead, or even fear of how the child was conceived can send many to the abortion clinic or the nearest hospital that provides this procedure. However, many women who choose to end their child’s life may not realize the pain they are putting themselves through, and the alternatives they can take instead of this life-altering decision to throw away the person growing inside them. Something needs to be done, and in order for more children to live as they were meant to, abortions need to be limited and regulated in order†¦show more content†¦In some cases, where friends and family feel so strongly against abortion, the women feel abandoned and alone. â€Å"The shame issue will keep us silent and suffering in silence,† says a woman who was sha med for what she did. If handled differently at conception, women can truly live their lives after pregnancy instead of taking such a difficult route, and aborting what could be the best thing to happen to them. Abortion, like many other life decisions, can affect a person emotionally and mentally, leaving them lost in the world they have once felt comfortable with, but there are also the physical effects to consider. Medical procedures always carry risks with them. No matter how small the dose or common the operation, there is always something that can go wrong. Women may look at abortion as a complication–free procedure they can receive, and then walk away later, unburdened by harm. However, having an abortion can lead to many complications that can leave scars and cause further distress for the woman. Scientists are still figuring out why, but there is a visible connection between abortions and cancers of the cervix, ovaries, and rectum. More than one study has even discovered a connection between breast cancer and abortion.
